For the pleasing climate and the
uncontaminated water Argentario is one of
the most attractive and favourite place by the
people who love sea. The hotel Baia d’Argento faces
one of the widest beach of the promontory (Pozzarello)
but it’s possible to choose among different little
bays in Giannella and Feniglia to
relax at the seaside. It’s also possible to dive
discovering the submarine life to admire shells and
corals or sailing in a boat or going
surfing or cruising to Giglio and Giannutri
islands or to the marine park of the archipelago.
But not only sea!
There is also a territory to discover: Porto
Santo Stefano (2 kms from the hotel) where you
can visit the village and see the fishing boats in
the evening and stroll along the promenade designed
by Giugiaro; Porto Ercole (8 kms) it’s
the other village of the Argentario where you can
visit the ancient forts (Forte Filippo, La
Rocca, Forte Stella); there is also the
Panoramica, the route to admire the stunning
landscape and the unforgettable sunsets;
Orbetello (7 kms) and the mystic lagoon.
We recommend a visit to the hinterland too.
The Tuscany hills and the medieval ancient villages
such as Capalbio, land pf VIPs and wild boars,
the Giardino dei Tarocchi by the artist Nike
de Saint Phalle; Scansano, Etruscan origin
and famous for its Morellino red DOCG wine;
Pitigliano, medieval village in the so called
Tufo area; Saturnia, the capital of the spas
area. Grosseto, a lively town surrounded by
the 16th century Medicee walls and the
archaeological Etruscan sites of Vetulonia,
Roselle and Cosa.
For those who love action there are trekking
paths and MTB routes; for those who love
nature there is the Parco della Maremma;
there are 5 golf courses (Argentario 2 kms,
Maremmello 26 kms, Saturnia 56 kms, Punta ala 80 kms,
Gavorrano 79 kms) and a fitness and health centre
nearby.
